Although the release of iOS 6 came with a lot of hype and fanfare, it is safe to say that the actual operating system did not live up to everyone’s expectations. Apple has always been a company that has made its name on simplicity and quality, but they seem to be missing the second part of the equation with their latest release of the iOS. There have been a large number of different problems reported by people who purchased the iPhone 5 or simply upgraded to iOS 6, and this is something that people are not used to seeing when it comes to Apple products. The most common problems that people seem to be reporting involve issues with Apple Maps, Wi-Fi connectivity and the App Store.
Google Maps is Definitely Safe for Now
The problem that most people have pointed to when it comes to iOS 6 is that Apple Maps is simply not ready to be used by anyone. The maps app actually has a number of incorrect locations listed on its grid, and this has caused many people to get lost when they are just trying to find something down the street. There have been plenty of comparisons made to Google Maps, which is what most people consider to be the best map app on the market. There is no version of Google Maps available for iOS 6 right now, and the fact that this gaff has highlighted the amazing quality found with Google Maps could turn out to be a serious problem for Apple.
Why Can’t I Connect to a Wi-Fi Network on iOS 6?
There have been a number of different issues reported when it comes to Wi-Fi, and one of the problems actually makes it impossible for the user to connect to any Wi-Fi networks. This problem has been more prevalent on the new iPad and the iPhone 4S more than other devices, and many people are having a hard time when it comes to finding a fix. Some people have tried to go into the setting on their device to turn on the Wi-Fi signal, but they are left with no networks to choose from when they attempt this tactic. The only option for many users here is to wipe the phone completely and start from scratch.
The App Store Interface Changes Need to Go
The general interface of the App Store is also a huge problem. Many people know that Apple can always bring innovative apps to the table that are easy to use, but they really dropped the ball when it comes to their App Store upgrades. The worst problem with the App Store is the new search feature. You will only find one app that comes up when you search for apps on your iPhone, so it makes it harder to find the app that you were looking for in the first place. Most people are used to Apple laying everything on the screen almost perfectly, so this kind of issue has a lot of people scratching their heads.
