Sony Xperia Arc S Review

Amidst the chaos in the handset market, Sony has once again proved its worth by launching the new Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S. Loaded with features built for the new generation, Xperia Arc S is sure to take the market by a storm. The Xperia Arc S is a plain show-off  with a Multi-touch, Scratch-resistant, LED, backlit LCD display with 16M color and 4.2 inches (length) which works on Sony Mobile Bravia Engine.

 Its light body weight of 117g and dimensions 125*63*8.7mm is something that is easy to carry around. It supports both 2G and 3G network with inbuilt integration for Facebook, Twitter, Google Search, Maps, Gmail and  Youtube and supports messang via SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, IM, Push Email. Its browsers include HTML, Adobe Flash  using  Java MIPD emulator and works on Android OS, v2.3.4 (Gingerbread), v4.0.4 (which cannot be upgraded to v4.1, but that hardly matters!) with CPU of 1.4 GHz Scorpion, Chipset of Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon which is a quit essential in today’s internet-savvy world.

Sony Xperia Arc S It provides an external memory card slot of upto 32GB ( 8GB included) and has an impressive internal memory of 1GB (312Mb usable) and 512 MB RAM. Data exchange is available through  WLAN- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot , Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, EDR and USB microUSB v2.0, USB On-the-go support with GPRS speed upto 86 kbps, EDGE upto 237 kbps and HSDPA speed of 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA speed of 5.8 Mbps. All this comes in pretty handy at times of data transfer.

Other attractive features include  a primary camera with 8 MP, 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, check quality,  video recording at 720p@30fps, continuous autofocus, video light, video stabilizer, check quality, sensors- Accelerometer, proximity, compass, with A-GPS support; GLONASS, Stereo FM radio with RDS with provision for 3.5mm Jack for earphone and loud speaker- Voice 67dB / Noise 65dB / Ring 76dB plus audio quality of Noise -89.3dB / Crosstalk -90.2-(something very essential in communication!).

Its uniqueness includes touch focus, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, 3D sweep panorama, image stabilization which is amazing when actually worked upon!

Not worrying about the battery backup, it has a Standard battery, Li-Po 1500 mAh, which includes talktime-Up to 7 h 25 min (2G) / Up to 7 h 35 min (3G), stand by- Up to 460 h (2G) / Up to 460 h (3G) and music play- Up to 37 h.

Sony Xperia Arc S is a must-have after all the engineering spent to make life easier for one. Android Smartphone comes in shades of Pure White, Midnight Blue, Misty Silver, Gloss Black, Sakura Pink and has already hit the market in August, 2011. Its best to hurry as it would be a waste to think twice.
